Synopsis
““Porch Pirates” is set in an East Texas town full of Christmas spirit. While this cheer and decor of the town rings in credence to the time of the holidays, there appears to be a crime wave with several thefts occurring. Once again, packages, including many that contained more than material value, have vanished from porches , implying that this year’s town excitement about Christmas is ill fated.
Trio of detectives sophomore Jack Tyler who is a bit of a realist yet somewhat cynical to eager rookie Marcos Fernandez and quick-witted Sally Jones. Their personalities complement each other and make up an unlikely team given their task of the detectives figuring out whatever happened. It becomes a ventilator case after the Mayor’s prized historical town’s collectible beanie baby goes missing.
As the case progresses under the detectives’ hands, they have to deal with a number of colorful characters including forgetful neighbors and a mischievous children gang. Though the plot is interesting, it tends to go a bit rough as the children learn to overcome Universal issues that accompany all, including Jack who had trouble accepting other team members, a growing-famous Marcos whose head is making him last, and a determined Sally who wants to show every other who is in charge.
To close up, “Porch Pirates” has one conclusion, which is, everybody must shine in their day, and no matter what happens today a better day is ahead. Amazingly, The thieves mercenary spirit is not natural – this makes the story more meaningful.
