“Gladiator II,” from the director Ridley Scott, is the follow-up to the well received Gladiator. Living among political chaos in Rome the son of Lucilia and Deceased Maximous becomes an enslaved gladiator and battles in the colosseum.

“Gladiator II” has been rated as a “mixed” to “positive”. The more positive reviews are quite emphatic regarding the scope of the performances and the passing of Denzel Washington. The film has been termed as “an astounding event” and “the rebirth is astonishing”.
With that said, some reviews do comment on the fact that the film while being entertaining may not appeal to viewers as much emotionally as the previous film did.
